Staff Pay + Updates - August 10 - August 31

Hi mods! Please comment below with your games/services for this period to receive your rewards. This post is going up a little early because I leave for vacation on the 27th; feel free to either hold your comments until the 31st or post with your updated comment/games amounts at the end of this period. Staff pay posts will normally go up on the 15th and last day of the month.

Pay Rates

Staff pay for games is currently:

  • 3 random cards per weekly game round
  • 6 random cards per biweekly game round
  • 2 choice cards per 4 weekly game rounds
  • 2 choice cards per 2 biweekly game rounds
Since we opened in the middle of the month, you may claim the equivalent choice card amounts for the game rounds you have run - 1 choice for 2 weekly rounds and 1 choice for 1 biweekly round.

Staff pay for services is currently:

  • Synth Shop: 1 random card per comment processed
  • Voltage Rewards: 1 random card per 2 comments processed
  • Mylists: 1 random card per comment processed
  • All Services: 1 choice card per service run each week
Additionally, if you processed any doubles exchange or other card trade-in comments, please include the cards that were exchanged in a textarea field. The cards will be added to Vintage Software with the next update.

Staff pay for deck makers is currently:

  • 3 cards per deck made
  • 1 choice card per 3 decks made
  • 1 random crystal per 5 decks made

Additional Games

To game mods, if you'd like to pick up an additional game, please let me know! You will of course receive additional pay for these rounds. It's definitely not required, and please keep within your bandwidth. If you'd like to stick with your games for now - or see what the general cadence of the TCG is for a little longer before deciding - that's totally fine.

If you are interested, here are some games from the initial application post that we don't have in rotation, plus a few more ideas that don't have names yet.

  • Pyramids (Weekly): Remove cards from the bottom of a pyramid of cards to the top by donating cards that add or subtract to 21
  • Missing Pieces (Weekly, screened answers): A spot the difference game; players must point out the difference between two images
  • Outside the Lines (Weekly, screened answers): Players guess a card that has been modified or altered in some way (grayscale, Photoshop filters, etc)
  • Cloud Clash (Biweekly with weekly resets): Fill up element clouds by donating cards or crystals of each element
  • Encore Performance (Biweekly): Players pick one of 8 characters to cheer for (select) and receive a random type of reward based on their selection

And some ideas that were floating around the staff chat; these games would not be screened. As a sidenote, these would result in more cards traded in for Vintage Software (because the pile emptied way faster than I was expecting...):

  • A Texas Hold 'em-inspired game. Players post a hand of up to 5 cards that they will trade in. At the end of the game round, the flop, turn, and river cards (3 total) are randomly selected, and players receive rewards based on the quality of their hands and how many elements they matched. For example, turning in 1 card of each element + 1 cute, 1 cool, 1 neutral revealed at the end of the round = 1 pair, smaller reward; turning in 5 elegant cards + 3 random elegant cards revealed at the end of the round = full flush, the highest reward possible. We can adjust the potential rewards based on probability.
  • A board game-inspired game. Players trade in 1 - 3 cards and move across the game board based on the card number total that they turn in (card01 + card11 = 12 steps, for example); the rewards are then randomized for each space at the end of the round. There are some graphics that have been made for this in the staff chat, so no worries on making your own graphics for this (and thank you, Adelicya, for the graphics and the idea!)

And if you have any other ideas - feel free to share and let me know if you'd like to run them!

DECKMAKING GUIDE

Thank you for your interest in being a deckmaker at Module TCG! Deckmakers are a key part of the TCG - after all, what's a TCG without cards to collect?

If you are interested in being a deckmaker at Module in the future, or you are a current deckmaker and would like a refresher to keep your decks consistent with Module's current decks, this post details how to use the template and tips on image editing.

Please note: You will need an image editing program that can open and edit PSD files. Also, this guide uses screenshots from and directions for Adobe Photoshop CC. If you are using a different program like Photopea, an older version of Photoshop, etc, it may look different. (CC's the version I have access to - sorry! If these directions are different for you, please comment down below with your adjustments and I will add them to the post!)

lots of text and templates below! )
